Star Words Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

This policy applies to the Star Words mobile game for Android, developed and to be published by Clockwork Loop Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17512637), registered office 19 St. Marys Lane, Burghill, Hereford, HR4 7QL. Our website's own policy is here.

The short version

Star Words has no advertising, no in-app purchases and no account system, and it works fully offline. We do not collect your name, email address, location or contacts, and we do not sell or share personal data.

What is stored on your device

The game saves your settings (such as language, difficulty and sound options) and your best scores locally on your device. This data stays on your device and is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it. We cannot see it.

Online leaderboards

Where online leaderboards are offered, they use Google Play Games Services. If you choose to use them, your score and your Google Play Games profile name are processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy so that rankings can be shown. This is optional, and the game remains fully playable without it. We do not receive any other personal data from Google Play Games.

Third-party components

The game uses the Unity engine and some open-source libraries and word lists, listed under Credits in the game. They are included in the app and run on your device.

Children

Star Words is a general-audience word game. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is normally nothing for us to access or delete. If you believe we hold data about you, contact us and we will deal with it in line with UK data protection law. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes and contact

If the game's data practices change, we will update this page and its date. Questions: r.ager@clockworkloop.com.
